The holiday season comes every year. You can't escape it. What you believe won't change the fact that it dominates life at work, and shopping, and traffic, and parking. We can't beat it so we might as well join. It seems that snow globes have become the new "IT" thing. I prefer ornaments that hang on trees or shelf decorations I can group together. Why not combine the two? Snow Globe Christmas Ornaments, are starting to be seen quite a bit. You can get full sets, or individual. And some of the best ones are personalized. They may not be quite as elegant, or even pretty as other decorations but they are truly special. Being able to remember firsts like our first year married, our first child or our first after the children have left us in our empty nest. Those personal times are nice to remember with a tactile piece we touch and look at every year. Then we put it away and next year we get it out again and relive the sweet, sometimes bittersweet memories again. And again, the next year. And the next. And you can choose the kind of bauble that hangs on the tree or sits on a coffee table or you can have a whole family of them on a shelf. Just scoot that elf on the shelf over and make room for the grand kids. Well, their personalized items anyway.
If we are going to display something, there is no way to tell someone they are important like making it personal. Personalized decorations last. If you remember some special moment from 20 years ago it was probably not so much some elegant piece of beauty, but instead, some corny little goofy thing and the associated person. Think back to your own memories of events and special moments with people. Remember the crayon picture you made for grandma? No, you don't remember it? She still has it somewhere! You may not remember making it, but to her it was personal. So the items I look for start with the ability to personalize. Nice is good, but goofy or corny is also good so don't get hung up on expensive and elegant as having the same meaning as good. Yeah, I have stuff from my grand kids from years ago and remember the events surrounding them. High user ratings like 4 stars or higher is important, but sometimes not so much. Kid friendly items also have a place even if the rating is low. Some of the child safe items I have gotten, that will go on a shelf for one season a year have low ratings, but in the end they do great for my needs. Sometimes I wonder who the real writers of reviews are anyway. It is good to read both good and bad reviews to help you with your decision. And remember that most people satisfied with a product don't go back and rate it. Kids and pretty lights. That is a powerful combination so you may as well get efficient LED lights so the batteries last the longest possible time. Not everyone has the same taste. One person will be wild about reindeer, the next crazy about snowmen, and another still just calm peaceful town scenes. We each know what we like. Anyway you can't talk Christmas without considering kid friendly, pretty lights, high ratings, and snowmen/reindeer.
